Visit of the Minister of Energy and Industry

Alexander Sheldyaev, Minister of Industry and Energy of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Igor Mironov, First Deputy Minister, and Dinar Khalilov, Head of Salavat Urban District Administration, paid a working visit to Gazprom neftekhim Salavat.

During the tour of the Company they attended the facilities of the Oil Refinery and the Monomer Plant.

Visit of the Minister of Energy and Industry

Alexander Sheldyaev, Minister of Industry and Energy of the Republic of Bashkortostan, showed a special interest in the process layout of ELOU AVT-6 crude unit.

The first point of the tour was ELOU AVT-6 (atmospheric and vacuum distillation unit). Azamat Khabibullin, First Deputy Director General, Production, Gazprom neftekhim Salavat, emphasized that the unit designed for primary crude oil processing currently processes gas condensate. Technology modification, arrangements and technical measures, feedstock storage facilities updating made it possible.

In the course of the tour the delegation visited the units reconstructed or built within the framework of a large-scale modernization of the Oil Refinery, namely, pressure swing adsorption units, isomerization unit of pentane-hexane cut, hydrotreating unit. The guests gave particular attention to the reconstruction of a hydrotreater (GO-2) in workshop No. 9, where extensive work was done to increase the output of Euro-5 diesel fuel.

Visit of the Minister of Energy and Industry

Azamat Khabibullin, First Deputy Director General, Production, told the guests about operation of the process units in detail.

The next points of the visit were HDPE production and ethylene-propylene production of the Monomer Plant. EP-355 unit produces ethylene and propylene, a highly-demanded feedstock for petrochemicals production process. Ethylene and propylene are consumed as a feedstock for production of acrylic acid, polypropylene, polyethylene both internally and at industrial plants of Bashkortostan and Russia. As a result of modernization, the capacity was increased up to 355 kta for ethylene and about 160 kta for propylene.

At acrylic acid and butyl acrylate plant, the largest one in Russia, Alexander Sheldyaev asked about prospects for further acrylic acid processing. It was noted that Gazprom neftekhim Salavat considers the possibility of superabsorbent polymers (SAP) production based on acrylic acid, incl. for the use in personal hygiene products.
