LLC Gazprom neftekhim Salavat introduces separate collection of municipal solid waste (MSW) at its facilities.
The Company acquired and is currently setting up special containers with 4 sections — for paper, plastic, glass and unsorted waste — in administrative and amenity buildings. Separate collecting lets us utilize useful components as secondary resources and lower amount of MSW, sent to landfills.
— It’s very principal that the plant workers understand the importance of separate MSW collection and approach it seriously, — Oleg Burkov, Chief Environmental Engineer of Gazprom neftekhim Salavat, points out. — Environmental issues are directly coupled with production. Thus, an increase in environmental safety is an aggregate effort of the whole Company’s staff. Each employee should be an environmentalist inside — this way we can enhance the ecological culture at the factory.
As for industrial waste, the Company fully organized its collection with subsequent transfer to the specialized contractors and takes measures to decrease its formation. Disassembling operations, for example, no longer produce such disposal as scraps from reinforced concrete and brickwork. During shredding they turn to ballast compliant with technical specifications, that is used as a recultivant for the decommissioned settling pond OС-90 at the treatment facility.
LLC Gazprom neftekhim Salavat continues to accomplish long-term goals on ecological safety. In particular, it endeavors to obtain a complex environmental permit and reduce formation of waste which is collected separately. There were conducted the inventory of emission sources and developed a new project on waste generation norms and its allocation limits. The program on environmental measures for 2020–2022 is being reviewed. It is designated to bolster environmental safety and downgrade the impact on environment.
