Wave of overhauls

The Oil Refinery of Gazprom neftekhim Salavat has launched a wave of overhauls. A vast amount of work will have to be done at the plant’s units In thirty calendar days. More than 500 contract workers are engaged at the plant sites every day.

Wave of overhauls

During the scheduled overhaul the Refinery units will have to provide inspection, technical examination, diagnostics, ultrasonic thickness measurement and acoustic emission testing of the equipment, pipelines and furnaces. A great amount of activities is planned for the inspection and repair of shut-off and control valves.

ELOU AVT-6 was taken out for overhaul after a four-year inter-repair run. In addition to a large scope of work on inspection, cleaning and diagnostics of the equipment, some activities were planned to be completed this year to retrofit the units and replace the vacuum column packing in the upper part. ELOU AVT-6 is planning to be back into service for a four-year inter-repair run.

GO-2 Hydrotreatment Unit of Shop No. 9, which has also operated for four years without major repairs, is planning to reload the catalyst. As part of import substitution, the first line will be loaded with a new catalyst from Ishimbay Catalyst Plant instead of the previously used French catalyst. It is planned to load the second line with the spent regenerated and reactivated French catalyst.

During the overhaul the Refinery units are also planning to carry out acoustic emission monitoring on technical devices, and, as part of the industrial safety examination, provide diagnostic works to extend the safe operation life of the static equipment and pipelines.

—In the course of repair works, we are planning to replace the imported spare parts of the pump and compressor equipment with their domestic alternatives, — comments Rinat Gubaidullin, Technical Director of the Oil Refinery. — For the first time a domestic catalyst will be loaded instead of the imported one at the Diesel Fraction Hydrotreating Unit. Based on the lab test results it has ensured the production of environmentally friendly diesel fuel.
