Company Will Invest Over 16 Billion Rubles In Environmental Projects
The environmental projects of Gazprom neftekhim Salavat were discussed in the course of the briefing «Ecology in Bashkortostan» on BST TV channel on March 9.
Oleg Burkov, Chief Ecologist of the Company, told in a live broadcast about the activities that Gazprom neftekhim Salavat implements to improve the ecological situation.
— Our Enterprise pays great attention to modernization and environmental measures, — said Oleg Burkov, detailing the main projects of the Company. In particular, they cover construction of Sulfur Production Unit aimed at utilizing hydrogen sulfide and reducing atmospheric emissions. As a result of the project realization the pollutant emissions will be dwindled by 4 670 tons per year by increasing the conversion of hydrogen sulfide. Thus, this project will lower the total gross emissions into the atmosphere by 15% and sulfur dioxide emissions by 30%. The project budget is 12 billion 259 million rubles. The facility is scheduled to be commissioned in 2023.
Another important project — the reconstruction of effluent treatment plants — is to maximize the reuse of treated wastewater, recycle treatment plant waste, and reduce pollutant emissions into the atmosphere. One of the technical solutions of this project involves covering all the open reservoirs, which will significantly cut the atmospheric pollution. Currently, construction and assembly works are being carried out and some equipment is already in the commissioning mode. The budget of Stage 1 for 2023–2024 is 2 billion 886 million rubles. The planned commissioning of the 1st stage facilities is in 2024.
Yet another crucial project is upgrading the tank farms of the Oil Refinery to lessen the risks of man-made accidents.
The project budget for 2023–2025 is 1 billion. 564 million rubles. The planned commissioning of the facilities is in 2025.
An accredited eco-analytical laboratory is operating at the plant to ensure atmospheric air quality monitoring. During adverse weather conditions the Сompany intensifies control over the content of pollutants in the atmospheric air of the town, the sanitary protection zone and harmful emissions from stationary sources.
— Our eco-analytical laboratory handles complaints from town residents, — said Oleg Burkov, Chief Ecologist. — We communicate all the information to the citizens through the corporate newspaper, the Enterprise's website, and all the information is publicly available.
