JSC Meleuzovskie Mineralnye Udobrenia (Meleuz Mineral Fertilizers) (100% subsidiary of LLC Gazprom neftekhim Salavat) produced the 5-millionth ton of ammonium nitrate.
According to Ramil Musin, Director General of JSC Meleuzovskie Mineralnye Udobrenia, it is an important event for both the personnel and the Company as a whole.
‘The 5-millionth ton is a confirmation of the fact that our ammonium nitrate, which is primarily used in agriculture, is a high-quality product,’ he was quoted as saying. ‘It is in demand and the plant has an incentive to go on and opportunities for further development.’
Ammonium nitrate has been produced by the Meleuz company since 1985. It is the most popular nitrogen fertilizer, with the nitrogen content of 34.4 per cent. The fertilizer promotes plant growth, increases crop yield and resistance to adverse factors. The product is also used in medicine and in mining to manufacture industrial explosives.
At present, the products of JSC Meleuzovskie Mineralnye Udobrenia are greatly sought after, REACH-certified and conform to the highest world standards, the proof of which are the awards of international and Russian competitions.
Taking into account the growing demand, the Company is planning to increase its ammonium nitrate production. Thus, in 2017 it is planned to produce 10 per cent more as compared to the 2016 target numbers. With this in view, the Company systematically updates equipment, repairs buildings, structures and process equipment.
