Header with steam at 140 atm. abs. is successfully installed.
Gazprom neftekhim Salavat has implemented a project to install one of the longest pipelines in Russia designed for steam supply with the following parameters: with pressure of 14 MPa and temperature equal to 560 degrees. The total length of the headers with steam at 140 atm. abs. is about 4 kilometers.
The new network is required for steam supply from LLC Novo-Salavatskaya TEC to ethylene and propylene production unit (EP-340) producing the feedstock for the whole process chain of Monomer Plant in Gazprom neftekhim Salavat.
Implementation of the project began in 2011. It was designed to replace the old worn out steam pipeline. In 2015 the first pipeline of approximately 2.5 km length with steam at 140 atm. abs. was put into operation, this year the second pipeline of approximately 2 km length has been tested.
The start-up of the new facility will drastically decrease the network maintenance cost and avoid the need for a contractor specialized in weld control and extension of the steam pipeline lifetime. The new header with thicker pipe walls will increase its reliability and efficiency, as well as improve the production of EP-340.
— We have implemented a very complicated and important project for our production, — explains Igor Taratunin, Technical Director of Gazprom neftekhim Salavat. — The project name was given due to the technical characteristics of the pipeline: the header is designed for steam supply under the pressure of 140 kgf/cm2 or 14 MPa. Every pipeline is estimated to be in service for over 20 years. Taking into account their alternating operation the production of EP-340 will be supplied with steam during the next 40 years in total.
