One single logic
Gazprom neftekhim Salavat is to put a centralized heat metering system into operation. It is based on PI-System computing capacities, a tool for building a real-time plant information system for an industrial enterprise. Creation of the system started in February 2019. For the time being the testing of the system has been successfully completed.
This system allows evaluating the heat transfer fluid density, instantaneous mass flow, instantaneous flow rate of heat quantity based on the readings of pressure, temperature and flow gauges installed on process units of Gazprom neftekhim Salavat.
Presently, 109 metering units (327 gauges) for measuring pressure, flow and temperature of steam with a pressure of 140, 35, 16 and 7 ata are connected to the new system. Taking into account continuous improvement of the technical base and start-up of new production facilities, the number of these metering units constantly increases.
Until recently, the Company did not have a unified method for measurement results processing. In order to determine the amount of energy consumed, the data obtained on the basis of paper cartograms and instrument storage devices was used. The data was preprocessed in the automated process control system, partly in PI-System.
The heat metering system created on the basis of PI-System computing capacities provides one single calculation logic. It is user-friendly; it increases the accuracy and efficiency of calculating the steam material balance over the enterprise.

Gazprom neftekhim Salavat produces more than 150 items, over 50% of which are bulk products including motor gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel oil, styrene, polystyrene, low density polyethylene, high density polyethylene, DOP plasticizer, butyl alcohols, sulphur, ammonia, urea, acrylic acid, butyl acrylate etc.
The products are shipped to all federal subjects of the country. Export supplies of oil products are mainly directed to European and CIS countries. Petro- and gas chemicals are exported to over 30 CIS and non-CIS countries and the largest volumes are shipped to Kazakhstan, Germany, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Poland, Belgium, Finland etc.
