Company implements the project of commercial sulphur production

The construction of the new production facility will help to reduce the negative impact of the hazardous substances on the environment and satisfy the need of the company for utilization of hydrosulfuric gas from the Oil Refinery units after commissioning of the new facilities.

«The designed unit includes Hydrosulfuric Gas Preparation Section, Thermal and Catalytic Oxidation Section, Sulphur Degassing Section, Off-Gas Incinerator Section and Water Treatment Section», Alexander Kuznetsov, Head of the New Petrochemical Premises Construction Division, Capital Construction Department of Gazprom neftekhim Salavat explained. The designed capacity of the new unit is 60 000 tons of sulphur per year. The designed sulphur recovery efficiency is at least 99.2 %, which means that almost all hydrogen sulfide will be converted into a safe solid state.

The design documents and the results of the facility engineering research are submitted for the state expert examination to obtain the positive findings. The unit is planned to be commissioned in 2018.
