Gazprom neftekhim Salavat takes an active part in developing children’s, amateur and professional sports.
The Company has always paid special attention to sports throughout its history. In 1955, a standard amateur sports hall was put in commission. In 1966, the Khimik training center opened. In 1967, the 50th Anniversary of October (Revolution) Stadium was constructed. That same year, the Trud voluntary sports society of Salavat petrochemical complex was transformed into a sports club. In 1972, the Neftekhimik Sports Palace opened.
Salavat has been developing mass sports, sport of records, corporate sports. In 2007, marking the beginning of sport revival in Salavat, the Salavat Sports and Concert Complex opened as part of the Gazprom for Children program, followed by the opening of the Zolotaya Rybka (Golden Fish) Swimming Pool. In 2010–2012, the Company took the initiative to modernize the Neftekhimik Sports Palace, the 50th Anniversary of October Stadium, sports grounds were constructed in Salavat Culture and Recreation Town Park.
One of the directions of Gazprom neftekhim Salavat development strategy is sport without limits. Within the Gazprom for Children program initiated by Gazprom, the Company creates conditions for harmonious spiritual and physical development of children and teens, organizes sports classes and clubs. Thus, in July, 2008, the Company initiated foundation of the Yurmaty children’s hockey team. In 2011, a Salavat branch of Zenith Football Academy opened. Gazprom neftekhim Salavat organized the Minor Goodwill Games, the 1st Spartakiada for children from boarding schools of the Volga region.
Each year employees of the Company and of its affiliates take part in the Corporate Spartakiada games to demonstrate their achievements in various sports.
Employees of Gazprom neftekhim Salavat take active part in the Cross of Nations, all-Russian running day, and the Ski Track of Russia ski race.
Since 2013, the Company’s employees take part in the First Corporate Games of Gazprom Group Companies and Partners operating in Bashkortostan.
In 2014 the Company’s employees joined the national movement of the Ready for Labor and Defense program, the all-Russian sports and physical complex among industrial collectives.
